Abstract

This research paper delves into the intricate relationship between gender dynamics and the social aspects of migration. Focused on understanding the multifaceted influence of gender throughout the migratory process, our study explores the decision-making processes, experiences, and social networks of male and female migrants. Drawing on a comprehensive review of literature and empirical findings, our research sheds light on the distinct challenges faced by gender groups, emphasizing the need for a gender-sensitive approach in the realm of migration. The key findings underscore the unequal power dynamics, the role of gender in shaping social networks, and the intersectionality of gender with socio-cultural factors. The paper concludes by advocating for a paradigm shift in migration discourse, urging policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to adopt gender-responsive policies and strategies that address the diverse needs and experiences of all migrants.
