The 6th Schedule of the Indian Constitution, crafted with the objective of safeguarding the interests of tribals inhabiting the northeastern regions of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura represents a unique constitutional provision that reflects the complexities of governance in pluralistic societies. This research paper endeavors to provide a thorough analysis of the different dimensions and implications of the sixth Schedule.
