Abstract
Virtual worlds have a significant impact on carbon footprints and have a growing environmental impact as a result. This study examines the emerging topic of digital sustainability, concentrating on methods and tools for reducing carbon footprints in virtual environments. By utilizing an extensive analysis of existing literature, we explore the intricacies of virtual worlds and analyze the different elements that contribute to their carbon footprints. We examine cutting-edge tactics together with best practices and policy initiatives, such as hardware optimization, software efficiency enhancements, and integration of renewable energy sources.
