Abstract

Homestay tourism offers a unique opportunity for cultural exchange between hosts and guests, fostering mutual understanding and respect. This research article investigates the dynamics of cultural exchange within homestay experiences in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, India. Utilizing quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods, including surveys, interviews, and participant observation, this study explores how homestay interactions contribute to cross-cultural understanding. Findings reveal the impact of cultural immersion, communication patterns, and shared activities on the development of intercultural competence. The study also identifies challenges and opportunities for enhancing cross-cultural exchange in homestay settings, providing insights for both homestay hosts and guests.
