Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between teaching competency and professional commitment among secondary school teachers in the Pudukkottai district of Tamil Nadu. A sample of 300 teachers was selected using stratified random sampling. The study explores how demographic variables gender, age, marital status, educational qualification, teaching experience, school locality, and type of school relate to teaching competency and professional commitment. Quantitative analysis using mean, standard deviation, t-test, and ANOVA revealed significant associations between professional commitment and variables such as teaching experience, educational qualification, and school type.
