Employing a mixed-methods approach, this study combines qualitative interviews with artisans and quantitative environmental impact assessments to identify and analyze sustainable practices in the Kalamkari industry. Findings reveal that sustainable practices not only contribute to environmental conservation but also enhance the socio-economic status of Kalamkari artisans, fostering skill development, and ensuring the art form's transmission to future generations. The paper highlights the challenges artisans face, including market access and the preservation of traditional knowledge, while identifying opportunities for growth and sustainability. Through a comparative analysis with other traditional arts, the study suggests that integrating sustainable practices into Kalamkari can serve as a model for revitalizing traditional crafts worldwide.
