Abstract

India opened its gates to foreign universities through GATS in the year 2000 and then the vibrations of change started. All metro cities in India, in an attempt of trying to equip themselves to face the competition, are undergoing tremendous change. It has multifold effects on many service sectors such as Banking, Insurance, Hotels, Hospitality and Tourism. Education sector was the last one to join the list. The study undertaken seeks to analyze the impact of GATS on the Educational system in Pune. The Study deals some areas such as cost of education, quality of education, mode of teaching-learning and interaction with other universities and industry.
