Abstract
This paper is a review of the use of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) system to work on the Metacognitive Ability of Students in Islamic Religious Education. The primary issue is how to develop students' metacognitive abilities in the context of Islamic education and training. This issue is examined using a philosophical approach and is analyzed from a personal point of view. The learning structure carried out by students is the process of finding (asking) various information and boundaries that are equipped with basic exercises to make the exposure obtained by real students. Demand activities should be made possible by developing the five capabilities by tracking problems, referring to real facts, disassembling and presenting data through snippets, pictures, outlines, tables, or various works, such as forwarding or introducing results with various groups (teachers, classmates, or others). In studying Islamic Religious Education, the cycle of interest is complete in the material as the real world, turning into miracles or certain events such as pictures, stories, real-life that can be seen, or sound recordings, performed, etc. Student examples centered around images/accounts identified with the material. Afterwards, they presented the results in an orderly construction, and the students practiced it in front of the instructor and their friends changes into miracles or specific occurrences such as visuals, stories, live reality that can be seen, or sound recordings, etc.
